League members have an exceptional opportunity to get training on how to expand our bases of volunteers and supporters. League of Women Voters of California will present the follow-up/repeat webinar in the Wellstone training series that started this month on Basebuilding and Elections! The session will be from 7 pm to 8:15 pm EST on August 29—a training that shows participants how to run campaigns to build a bigger base of volunteers and supporters in ways that empower communities and grows new leaders at the state and local League level. Working off of the training at Convention this will be a more specific training that includes a deeper dive into a singular topic with more League-focused activities, a small group breakout, and examples. This training is best for any volunteer who wants to find and sharpen their skills to increase volunteer and supporter engagement and learn how to evaluate coalition partners when building issue campaigns. In September, we will cover Integrated Voter Engagement—a training that shows participants how to run campaigns that help build a bigger base in ways that empower communities and grows new leaders within the state and local Leagues and will be the same presented 2x next month. This training is ideal for anyone in your team charged with interacting with new engagers and supporters (Communications staff, Recruitment, etc.), local league leaders who have an interest in learning better ways of engaging/messaging in new communities. This is also great for your executive board members who seek to identify and recruit strong leaders and next generation of leaders to your ranks!
The September Trainings will be announced in the league update next week but we are sending this to you all in advance of that to ensure anyone on your team who wants to attend can do so. Again, it’s limited space available.
