Shape Another Fruitful Year for Our League!

May fund raising illustration

Dear LWVBAE Supporter and/or Member,

COVID-19 strikes again – metaphorically! Our League is pivoting from its traditional letter on paper for its Spring Fund Raising Drive to an electronic letter. We are taking this step in consideration of our supporters and members at greater risk or responsible for others at greater risk from effects of the corona virus.

Unchanged is our need for resources to carry on the following robust, ongoing programs:

1. Continuing a successful program to train and support high school interns, the next generation of Leaguers,

2. Empowering the Schools and Communities First! Campaign to pass the Nov. 2020 ballot measure to increase fairness in property tax assessment by assessing large commercial properties at market value, not original purchase price,

3. Carrying on the fight against the discernible threat of Climate Change by updating our community as to how specifically they can do their part to combat Global Warming, but reap personal benefits at the same time,

4. Advocacy of state and local ballot measures — such as Measures E, G and F sponsored by the Berkeley Unified School District and Measure B sponsored by the City of Albany on behalf of AUSD, all of which passed in the March 3 Primary Election — in line with League positions reflecting our core values.

Your contribution to continuation of our successful efforts is greatly appreciated! The Board and I look forward to another year of accomplishments thanks to principled, determined support from members like you.

Please Donate either on-line by clicking on the DONATE button on this page
