Free Bystander Workshop: Sun, Oct 29, 1-3 pm

  • You can sign up for the free Bystander Workshop on Sun, Oct 29, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Berkeley Central Library, Community Meeting Room (3rd Floor), 2090 Kittredge St. Berkeley, CA 94704.
  • This workshop will create a “lab” in which we practice skillful bystander/upstander responses. Drawing from recent events, we’ll work with scenarios of hate crimes, harassment and everyday bigotry. Each scenario will give us an opportunity to gauge our own capacities, strengthen our skills, and learn through practice. We’ll cover five different types of bystander responses, and spend most of the workshop exploring how to employ them in role play scenarios in a safe and welcoming learning environment.

Facilitated by and People Power Berkeley members Ann-Ellice Parker and Elizabeth Ferguson. People Power Berkeley is a group of citizens affiliated with the ACLU.
