Hands on INDUCTION COOKING TOUR

In the shift to all electric construction,
cooking is often considered the last hold out for natural gas.

The tour of the Fishnick Food Service Technology Center 12949 Alcosta Blvd. Suite 101 San Ramon, CA. will be from 1 to 4 PM Wednesday October 2. There will be a FREE hands on demonstration and discussion of induction cooking. Participants will see induction ranges in action and learn from experts how to use these appliances successfully.

“If you learn about this, you can electrify your whole house,” said Eric Arens of the LWVBAE Climate Team. “People going on the tour can cook something on an induction stove, so they can try that out. If League members know about this, they can be advocates and explain  electrification to other people,”

The Fishnick Center is a fuel neutral, 9,000 square foot, commercial kitchen research facility, offering guidance and expertise in energy efficient kitchen equipment.  It is a program funded by California utility customers and administered by Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Information about the kitchen can be found at Fishnick.com/education/videos.

This field trip is being coordinated jointly by several different organizations: LWVBAE, the Berkeley Climate Action Coalition, 350Bay Area, the Building Decarbonization Group along with the AIAEB Committee on the Environment!
