As we approach the anniversary weekend of the passage of the Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, League members,sign up and spread the word about the weekend of action and activism on 8/8. Let’s gather as a beautiful community, as we face down the right-wing Voter ID proposition and other attempts to make voting harder and so effectively suppress the vote in our state.

President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law that year on August 6th. This action, born from years of struggle for voting rights and human decency in the face of white supremacist terrorism, is widely considered to be the single most important step towards making our country an inclusive, multi-racial democracy.

Let’s create a moment together as we honor our courageous history and organize to tackle what we are facing this November!
