The League of Women Voters Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville’s (LWVBAE) Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Dr. Sharon Goldfarb, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC as its new Co-President, working along ement, public trust, and democratic participation. This comes at a time when Leagues are exploring and moving to shared leadership models for the presidency across the state.
Dr. Goldfarb is a nurse practitioner, educator, and public health advocate with more than 35 years of experience working at the intersection of healthcare, policy, and community engagement. She currently serves as a professor at the University of San Francisco and has long been involved in local and national advocacy efforts focused on health equity, science communication, and civic participation..

The League of Women Voters plays a vital role in helping communities access accurate information, participate in democracy, and hold institutions accountable. I’m honored to help lead this extraordinary organization at a time when civic engagement is more important than ever.”
Goldfarb has been an active member of the LWVBAE Board of Directors, contributing to programming and advocacy around public health, science literacy, and community engagement. In her new role as Co-President, she will work with fellow League leaders to expand voter education, develop new partnerships with local organizations, and deepen the League’s impact across Berkeley, Albany, and Emeryville.
