Albany No Kings, coordinated by the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, on October 18, 2025, drew up to two thousand Albany and other local residents. They lined the streets of San Pablo and Solano Avenue towards Kains Street. Folks joined in on the nationwide and international protests that all together, attracted an estimated 7,000,000 passionate attendees who participated in a movement that inspired others across the globe.

The massive local crowd was composed of spirited protesters holding signs in defense of American democracy, asserting that our country cannot fall any further and descend into autocracy. The mood of the day was infused with joyous activism as an act of resistance against oppression and despair. Some sang, played guitars, drums, and anything they could get their hands on, with hundreds of cars passing by honking in support. There were even people dressed in inflatable costumes in the spirit of Portland, dancing and boogieing up and down the streets. People stood on the sidewalks, on the medians, while others sat and proudly displayed signs from benches and wheelchairs.

See the photos with a panoply of creative and humorous signs! Let’s hang on everyone and keep this energized and peaceful movement goingđŸ’œ!
