Did you know nearly 1 in 4 eligible Americans aren’t registered to vote? National Voter Registration Day is always the perfect time to change that! National Voter Registration Day was on Monday, September 15th, 2025, with League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville (LWVBAE) voter registration drives happening at Berkeley City College, Albany High School, and throughout our communities. It’s a nonpartisan civic holiday in the U.S., creating broad awareness of voter registration opportunities and celebrating democracy.

Organizations like LWVBAE are always aiming to get eligible citizens registered to vote, but on days like this we have special events like at Berkeley High School where board members Eva Levenson and Sara Faiyaz walked around during lunch helping students take their first steps to registration. Eva said, “We got a good number of people started, but a lot of them were already registered from our efforts last year, too!”

This is the time to spread awareness to your friends, family and your favorite neighbor about their right to vote! Be part of the cause that helps thousands of citizens have their chance to have their voices heard. LWVBAE offers promotional voter registration literature such as National Voter Registration Day stickers and posters, and quarter cards with QR codes for online registration that can be used throughout the month.
