Internship Opportunity

I used to think internships were for fetching coffee. Then, I was writing an article about National Voter Registration Day that would end up being featured on the LWVBAE website. The League of Women Voters, Berkeley, Emeryville and Albany has a unique opportunity to share with the youth of the Bay Area for 2026.

The Helene Lecar Civic Engagement Internship is for students who have passions surrounding learning about critical sociological and political issues  and how local government and civil society work. There are specific internship positions available to apply for which will focus deeply on issues related to their focus.

As interns for the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, you would join a major national organization that exists to protect our freedoms and advocate for the policy positions we’ve carefully studied. After interning a range of opportunities arises for the students as they meet former White House members and work with household names like former LWVBAE president, now Berkeley Mayor, Adena Ishii and Congress Woman Lateefah Simon.

The opportunities open are for those interested in communications, health care, diversity, equity and inclusion, criminal justice/legal system issues, climate change mitigation, and inclusive community action.

Applications are due September 30th, with one or two openings in the fall, apply today!
