We need your help to pass the Sunshine in Campaigns Act, so voters can follow the money in politics. Please contact your Assembly Member, urging a YES vote on three key Money in Politics bills — SB 2, SB 3, and SB 27. They’ve passed the Senate and will have an Assembly floor vote very soon!
In the wake of the Citizens United court decision, we need improved disclosure of who is funding political activity. The Sunshine in Campaigns Act is a comprehensive approach that closes the Citizens Unitednonprofit reporting loophole, toughens state mailer disclosure, requires candidates to stand by their ads, modernizes the online filing system, and increases the penalties for those who violate campaign disclosure laws.

I support SB 2 (Lieu), SB 3 (Yee) and SB 27 (Correa), and I urge you to vote YES when they come up for a vote. Passing this comprehensive package of disclosure bills is important because:
- Voters should be able to easily “follow the money” to see who’s funding political campaign activity.
- Federal candidates have to stand by their ad; California candidates should, too.
- Penalties should be greater for those who violate campaign disclosure laws.
Please remember to vote YES on all three bills: SB 2, SB 3, and SB 27, to make our elections more transparent and voters better informed.
