Environmental Concerns Speaker Series
Tuesday, September 15, 2015
NOTE DATE CHANGE

JR DeLaRosa, Assistant Secretary for Climate Change at the California Natural Resources Agency, will join us from Sacramento to report on the Climate Change Symposium held in August co-sponsored by the Cal Natural Resources Agency and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The conference featured cutting-edge climate research with presentations on climate change and the current drought and its potential impacts on agriculture, sea-level rise and storm surge in SF Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and measurement of carbon emissions from major cities.

JR DeLaRosa works on integrating climate adaptation and mitigation efforts to our natural resources and communities, and connecting California’s forward thinking policy with actionable science via the California Climate Change Assessments. Prior to his work at the Cal Natural Resources Agency, Mr. DeLaRosa served as an Advisor for Renewable Energy in the Governor’s Office from 2011 to 2014. He was an Executive Fellow in the California Governor’s Office from 2010 to 2011 and served as a Field Representative in Salinas for California State Assemblymember Anna Caballero from 2008 to 2010.
