Think globally, act locally

The Climate Change Team’s objective is to inform and advocate on the urgency of climate change and on actions to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

Our advocacy is focused on policy makers and those who can influence governments.

To do so we will become familiar with key points in related legislation – both proposed and in the pipeline.

Our Approach

  • Meet with League leaders at all levels to maximize our effectiveness
  • Meet with local legislators to offer collaboration
  • Meet with policy makers
  • Structured approach for each meeting
  • Present key actions to reduce GHG
  • Relate actions to legislation

In March 2009, LWVBAE Climate Change Team chairs Linda Swift and Jan Blumenkrantz went to Washington to lobby our representatives on behalf of the Earth's Climate. You may read a PDF copy of their report by clicking this link.

Our regular meetings are the third Wednesday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the LWVBAE office.  We welcome all who are interested.
